Speech therapists work with patients to correct speech or swallowing disorders and help restore language and communication skills.

Many of our patients come to us after a brain injury, neuromuscular diseases, stroke, or other injury or illness. Based on each patient's unique needs and goals, the speech pathologist will develop a program with exercises and activities to strengthen muscles, sharpen speech, and improve reading, recall, and listening skills. Based on each patient's unique needs, the speech therapist will develop a program with the exercises and activities to meet patient goals.

Our speech therapists also work with cognitive communication impairments such as attention, memory, and problem-solving disorders.

Our speech therapists help patients:

  • Improve clarity of speech.
  • Improve reading, communication, and language skills.
  • Understand safe swallowing strategies.
  • Participate in LSVT LOUD treatment for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
